UrbanWaterSECURITY is a permanent initiative of the International Scientific Society of the Water-Energy Nexus (WEN). This page presents a selection of the official initiatives of the wider WEN scientific comunity, together with selected satellite, regional and endorsed events of recognised scientific, academic and technical quality. Although different in format and scope, these initiatives share a common commitment to rigorous research, international collaboration and the advancement of knowledge for a more sustainable future.
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
WaterEnergyNEXUS
The flagship international conference of the wider WaterEnergyNEXUS ecosystem, this series brings together scholars, institutions and professionals to address the interconnections between water, energy, climate action and sustainable development. With editions hosted across Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, it provides a high-level platform for scientific exchange, international cooperation and cross-regional dialogue
SATELLITE/REGIONAL EVENT
CleanAIR and Climate Symposium
A biennial international symposium dedicated to air quality, climate interactions and sustainable futures. Organised by the SEED group of the University of Salerno together with Campania Region, and supported by the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security, the symposium promotes dialogue among academia, institutions, professionals and control authorities on one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.
PARTNER CONFERENCE
International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology (CEST)
Established in 1989, CEST is a long-standing international conference that brings together leading experts, scientists, entrepreneurs and public institutions to discuss current and emerging environmental issues. It offers a recognised forum where academic research, innovation and practice converge in support of a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environment.
PARTNER CONFERENCE
Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration (EMCEI)
EMCEI is a major international forum for environmental integration in the Euro-Mediterranean region, bringing together researchers and professionals to discuss sustainability, monitoring, management and related interdisciplinary challenges. Its conference model combines scientific exchange with peer-reviewed publication pathways, including proceedings and journal opportunities, reinforcing both academic quality and international visibility.
ENDORSED EVENT
GITISA Young 2025
The first edition of GITISA Young was launched as the inaugural national congress entirely dedicated to young researchers in Sanitary Environmental Engineering. Organised by the SEED Division of the University of Salerno under the auspices and guidance of GITISA, the event was conceived to foster collaboration, interdisciplinary dialogue and networking among early-career researchers, while giving visibility to emerging scientific contributions in the field.
